Our Daily Commitments

Being a winegrower means making choices every day: in our actions, our practices, and the rhythm we set for the vineyard.

Concrete Actions We Take

Eco-grazing with our Ouessant sheep

In spring and autumn, our Ouessant sheep graze in selected vineyard plots.

These small, hardy sheep are perfectly suited to the terrain, helping us manage ground cover without machines or chemicals.

They play their part in supporting biodiversity and the natural soil cycle, while introducing a gentler rhythm during certain periods of the year.

Prioritising mechanical weeding

We choose to work the soil mechanically whenever possible to avoid chemical herbicides.

This requires more time, care, and constant observation to preserve soil balance.

Occasionally, in very specific cases, a minimal use of chemical weeding may be necessary.

But the goal remains the same: to reduce our impact to the bare minimum, moving forward with a pragmatic mindset.

A test plot in organic conversion

We’ve chosen to convert one plot to organic farming, without rushing the process.

This approach allows us to explore alternative solutions and better understand their effects on our soil, vines, and grapes.

Step by step, and with clarity, we’re exploring this path to keep improving without compromising our stability.

Observe, adapt, transmit

For us, environmental commitment isn’t a checklist—it’s a mindset:

Observing what the vines tell us, listening to the soil, adapting our practices, and passing down a living, breathing tool for future generations.

That’s what we do each day, with common sense and respect.

Our Certifications

Sustainable viticulture, designed for our region

The VDC certification (Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne) is a regional approach tailored to our grape varieties, our climate, and our specific challenges.

It provides a clear framework for how we work, considering biodiversity, soil, water, energy, and the landscape.

This label commits us to continuous progress each year, with a broad and realistic vision of our craft.

A national recognition of our efforts

In addition to the VDC, we’ve been awarded HVE certification (High Environmental Value), an official recognition granted by the French government.

This label is based on tangible criteria linked to biodiversity, input management, and respect for natural balance.

It validates our commitment to working at our own scale, with rigour and respect for the living world.
